As a lifelong knitter Anne Emilie started searching for applications that would help her organize her patterns and hopefully allow her to keep notes in one place. She made it possible!
Her knitting app, Knit&Note allow us to focus on the joy of knitting.
What is your activity?
My Name is Anne Emilie, and I`m 29 years old. I live in Norway together with my husband and two kids. I`ve been knitting since I was 7 years old, and creating has always been a part of my life. I am one of the founders of Knit&Note. In September we launched the first version of pur digital knitting universe.
Your history. Where the idea for the business came from. What were the beginnings?
I always wanted to do something more with my knitting, but never really figured out what should be my thing – until last fall. I sat in my living room knitting, and nearly screamed to my husband: „I got a brilliant idea”. I was tired of looking everywhere for my patterns and having notes I couldn`t find back to. I was missing a user-friendly service for knitters to gather everything in one place. My husband also thought it sounded interesting and we started researching and talking with knitters to see if there were others feeling the same way as me.
Your goals and mission
My goal is that Knit&Note become what knitters use everytime they sit down to knit, look for inspiration or even buy patterns.
What benefits you app offer for the knitters?
As I mentioned we have just started and have many plans ahead. In Knit&Note you can organize your patterns in custom categories, and add tags to easily find back. You can also keep track of your planned, ongoing and finished projects and add notes and pictures to them. Many people also seem to love the yarn stock and needle stock. Here you can add all your yarn, and if you create a new project you can use yarn from the yarn stock, and it will automatically update.
What is important for you.
It`s important for me that we do this to help other knitters and that the app gives the knitters a feeling of accomplishment and joy.
What are the future trends and challenges in your buisness.
This year we are expanding both our team and also building new features in the app. Right now we`re working on a community/social media part where you`ll be able to share your projects with others and send DMs. The next year we will also work on a marketplace that will make it possible for designers to sell their patterns through Knit&Note. Both these things are major and there is a lot of work that needs to be done. Can`t wait to show you more of this.
How do you spend your free time?
My free time is spent with my family, and I use every occasion to knit. I alwys bring my knitting project just in case there might be a couple of minutes.
